looked a little different this year as nominees appeared remotely from their homes around the world.Specially branded hazmat suits made to look like tuxedos were created in order for awards to be handed over in person to some of the nominees – should they win.The actor was nominated for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for his role in Ramy, about a man torn between his Muslim community and his New Jersey friends.Tuning in from home, Ramy posted a video of an Emmy’s assistant – complete with protective suit during the pandemic – stood outside his door holding a trophy.As it emerged that he had lost, the person gave him a wave through the window and walked away, taking the award with them.
