Chloe Zhao accepted the Critics' Choice Award for Best Director Sunday for Nomadland, paying memorial to the film's late sound mixer Michael Wolf Snyder following his death at 35 earlier this month as a result of suicide.'I’d like to dedicate this award to Michael Wolf Snyder who was the production cell mixer on both Nomadland and The Rider,' the director, 38, said as she accepted the honor virtually. 'Sadly he just passed away.'Zhao recalled her great working chemistry with Snyder, who she referred to as Wolf.
