Crystal Palace fans are livid after Thiago Silva narrowly escaped a red card after he blatantly pushed the ball out of Jordan Ayew's path with his hand.

The Brazilian received the ball from Reece James but in a lapse of concentration missed the pressing Jordan Ayew and was about to give the ball away when he falls to the ground and pushed the ball away from the Palace forward.

The Ghanaian striker turned to the referee and demanded play was stopped after the 38-year-old centre-back stopped him from going one-on-one with Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy.

Silva was handed a yellow card, and following a VAR review it wasn't deemed enough for the Brazil international to be given his marching orders as Ayew is denied the chance to give his side a two-goal lead against the West London side.
