Celebrity MasterChef winner Riyadh Khalaf has revealed that the final was cut short as BBC producers rushed to finish filming ahead of the UK lockdown.
The 2020 series of the BBC cooking show was filmed back in March as coronavirus cases in the UK began escalating. YouTuber Riyadh's fellow contestant Gethin Jones was seen suddenly pulling out of the competition last night, which he later clarified on Twitter was because he was displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
Speaking to Mirror TV after his win, champion Riyadh, 28, explained why the final seemed so different compared to its usual format.
Unusually, seven celebrities were still in the running on the final day, who were whittled down to three during the hour-and-a-half double episode.
