Employers have come under fire for asking staff to work while on furlough, in a move that could be breaking the law and sacrificing their pay.

The Job Retentions Scheme (JRS), which now covers 6.3million workers, covers 80% of wages for those who have been left temporarily out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The law states that if you're placed on it, you're effectively on paid leave, and should no longer be working. However, Sports Direct has come under fire for calling managers in, despite placing them on JRS more than a month ago.
