Can Scots travel abroad during lockdown - the rules explained

Travel from Scotland to other parts of the UK was already banned under level four restrictions imposed from Boxing Day. And the Scottish Government has reiterated its stance on travelling abroad amid the new lockdown measures.

Guidance on international travel says that Scots must not travel to or from Scotland “without a reasonable excuse”. Essential reasons include travelling to provide care to a vulnerable person, or for essential animal welfare.
