Visitors from two African countries added to Scots travel ban amid threat of new covid strain

travel ban on people coming into Scotland from two African countries will come into force at 4am tomorrow. The Scottish Government has said the UK ban on visitors from the southern Africa region remains in place and as of tomorrow morning will be extended to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania.

Fears over new strains of coronavirus has led to the decision. Earlier this month the Department for Transport announced the measures against a swathe of countries in southern Africa including mandatory self isolation periods for others.Only British or Irish people can legally enter the UK under the rules and are expected to stay in quarantine for ten days.Entry into England has been banned for visitors from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana,.
