Campaigner says Ayrshire landfill site restoration plans are a 'sticking plaster'

Ayrshire have been labelled “vague” by a long standing campaign group member.And Joe Dalling, project manager at the Tarbolton Tenants and Residents Association, said the proposals drawn up for Tarbolton Moss Landfill site are merely a “sticking plaster solution” and do not go far enough.His reaction comes in the wake of an announcement that the first phase of a longer-term plan, involving public partners, for remediation of the site, has received funding from Scottish Government.The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will be funded to initiate environmental works at the site, which was abandoned by a private operator in 2018, when they fell into liquidation.Residents living near the site have raised concerns over pollution since.
