A motion that will go before a full council meeting on Wednesday also asks that Cllr Ian Massie be appointed to the role.The suggestion has been put forward by Cllr Massie’s SNP colleague Cllr John Rebbeck and seconded by Cllr Sheila McCole.It follows an Age Scotland and the Scottish Older People’s Assembly’s (SOPA) campaign for every local authority in Scotland to establish the role of an older people’s champion.The councillor appointed to such a role will be a “link between the council and older people in the local area,” according to the motion.It adds: “Age
