Humza Yousaf has urged Scottish companies to sign up to a new business network tackling modern slavery.The call comes after the Record revealed details yesterday of a man forced to work on a Scots puppy farm for a year.About 30 firms have joined Scotland Against Modern Slavery (SAMS), which is raising awareness of trafficking and supporting victims.
But Yousaf has urged all firms to sign up to the group – which advises bosses on how to spot signs of modern slavery and people trafficking.He said: “I’d encourage all business to join the Scotland Against Modern Slavery group.“Innocent children, men and women are being exploited in the worst possible way and we all have a role to play in helping to eliminate this evil from our society.
