Manchester United are again considering Thomas Tuchel as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, and such a change could lead to several signings during the coming transfer windows.
The former Chelsea head coach held talks with United co-chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe about taking over. Ten Hag eventually received a contract extension, though, plus the backing of chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth.
Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui were reunited with their former coach at Ajax during the summer transfer window, with Joshua Zirkzee, another of his countrymen, also arriving.
They joined a raft of players coming to Old Trafford who previously worked with Ten Hag, and Tuchel could expect something similar.
