Yossman Locksmith Animation’s “Ron’s Gone Wrong” has won the award for best long form at the British Animation Awards 2022.Locksmith, which was founded by by Aardman Animations veterans Sarah Smith and Julie Lockhart alongside Elisabeth Murdoch, picked up the award at a ceremony in London on Thursday evening.The awards took place at London’s BFI Southbank and were presented by comedian Miles Jupp.Other winners on the night included Magic Light Pictures, for their adaptations of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s “Zog and the Flying Doctors” and Scheffler’s “Pip and Posy,” while production co-ordinator Hodan Abdi picked up the Lamb award, which “bridges the gap between current categories which recognise student achievements and general best-in-class awards, and is open to any young professionals working in the animation and VFX industry.” And 86-year-old Menna Trussler beat out Taika Waititi, Ricky Gervais and Ben Wishaw to take home the award for best voice performance, for her portrayal of Beryl in “Affairs of the Art.”“We have been amazed at the quality of the entrants for this year’s British Animation Awards and would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and nominees,” said BAA director Helen Brunsdon and producer Kieran Argo.

Jordan Moreau Sunshine Sachs, the longtime PR firm for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, has dropped the organization behind the Golden Globe as a client, Variety has confirmed.The PR firm has represented the HFPA since 2011, but the Golden Globes organization has been under fire since early 2021 when the Los Angeles Times reported that the HFPA had no Black members and that it had participated in unethical business practices. The HFPA pledged to undergo sweeping reforms, diversify and expand its membership, restrict paid travel and accepted gifts and revamped its bylaws.

Let’s Eat Grandma have pushed back the release of their upcoming new album due to vinyl delays.The Norwich duo – comprising Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth – announced in November that they’ll be releasing their third studio album, ‘Two Ribbons’, on April 8 via Transgressive.Now, the album has been pushed back to April 29. "Star Wars" fans were in for a treat on Wednesday when Disney+ released its first official trailer for the new series, "Obi-Wan Kenobi".  The show consists of six episodes of live action, which is set to be released on May 25.This iconic date for the "Star Wars" franchise happens to be the 45th anniversary of the original movie, which was released back in 1977.  Ewan McGregor will reprise his role of the wise space wizard, with Hayden Christensen returning to inhabit the sinister life-support suit of Darth Vader. The full cast consists of Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.  The series was directed by Deborah Chow, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.
