During lockdown, Brits are saving more money than they would usually.Many have set aside cash in “Rainy Day Funds” as the current economic crisis encourages a more frugal attitude.In a study of 2,000 adults, one third of participants said they’d saved an average of £459 since lockdown began.Around two thirds (67%) believe this is because they’re eating out less.A sizeable 43% have saved money by skipping the morning commute, while almost half have banked refunds from cancelled holidays.Brits tend to be spending less too – with the average adult £146 better off since cutting back on clothing, takeaway coffees, eating out and entertaining.Due to these cost-cutting factors, three in 10 adults say they’re happier with their finances and 44%.
