Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Brits can head out on day-trips as of Wednesday as new lockdown measures begin

Bored Brits will be able to go out in the car on day-trips as of Wednesday. The Prime Minister tonight eased some of the quarantine measures which included people being allowed out in their cars.

Boris Johnson said: "From this Wednesday we want to encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise. "You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household." After six weeks of lockdown Brits will be happy to escape their homes.

But the roads have been slowly getting busier in the last couple of weeks of lockdown. Deputy chief scientific adviser Dame Angela McLean warned the rise in people using their cars.
