A couple amongst the first holidaymakers forced to self-isolate for two weeks after returning from Spain have slammed the government U-turn.
Sophie Ingham, 23, and her boyfriend Nick Baldwin flew in to Leeds from Tenerife at 2.50am this morning. They flew out for last week after the government previously announced that Spain was exempt from quarantine measures from July 10.
But this was revoked late last night after Spain recorded more than 900 coronavirus infections for the past two days. The Department for Transport dropped the bombshell late night - leaving thousands of Brits overseas gutted at the prospect of returning home for two weeks of quarantine.
