Borussia Monchengladbach have released a heartwrenching statement confirming Jordi Bongard has been killed in a traffic accident.The Bundesliga side expressed their 'deepest sympathy' after the news filtered through that their Under 23s player had passed away, aged just 20.Monchengladbach confirmed the youngster's passing via their official account.The club tweeted: “Borussia mourns the death of U23s player Jordi Bongard, who unfortunately died in a car accident last night.
We would like to send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.“Jordi will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts!”All senior training sessions and press conferences have been cancelled as a mark of respect.Bongard, a talented young centre-back who died on Wednesday night, joined the Die Fohlen’s academy at the age of 12 and had worked his way into the club’s Under-23s.Sporting director Roland Virkus said: 'We received this terrible news this morning and we are stunned.
