A sequel to Borat is heading to Amazon ahead of the US presidential election. Sacha Baron Cohen will reprise his role as the iconic titular character for the film, which will be released by the streaming giant on Prime Video in 40 countries and territories, according to Deadline.
The Borat sequel is the first major film to have been made during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in the US. It is said that it filmed after an agreement with unions, with Baron Cohen working with minimal personnel and crew.
According to the publication, Baron Cohen placed himself in life-threatening situations akin to his work on the first Borat film, follow-up Bruno, and his television series Who Is America, prompting him to wear a bulletproof vest while filming.
