Bong Joon Ho has never been a filmmaker that has shied away from working in genre filmmaking. He’s made features about a train in a post-apocalyptic future, a giant super pig, and a literal amphibious monster.
So, while it is a little surprising that one of his upcoming new directorial projects is an animated film about sea creatures, it definitely still fits within the trajectory of his filmography.
