Police are hunting a knifeman after a man was killed and seven other people were injured in a "random" mass stabbing incident in Birmingham city centre.
Residents have been told to remain "alert" as West Midlands Police officers search for one suspect in connection with the murder investigation.
Police suspect the victims were stabbed at random at four scenes by one attacker who roamed the busy city centre, where bars and pubs had been packed, over a two-hour period in the early hours of Sunday.
Of the seven victims, a man and a woman were in a serious condition in hospital, while the other five suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
