Sane left City at the start of the summer for Bayern Munich, after telling the club he would not sign a contract extension. The winger had played just 11 minutes of the season after suffering a long-term knee injury in the 2019 Community Shield, before the pandemic stopped the campaign just as he was nearing a return in March.
