St Mirren captain Stephen McGinn has broken his silence on leaving his boyhood club. Stephen became the third McGinn to make the switch from Paisley to Edinburgh when he joined Hibs after impressing Jack Ross, following in the footsteps of younger brothers John and Paul.
The 31-year-old made no secret of the fact he’d have liked to have had the chance to earn a new deal in Paisley before he was released over the summer.
He told the Go Radio Football Show : “I loved my time as captain at St Mirren and Jack Ross made me skipper during my first week in.
