UK.Some of the towns affected include Preston, South Ribble, Wyre and Fylde, after an outbreak was confirmed in the area, and comes after another outbreak in Warwickshire earlier this week.Cases of Avian Influenza (bird flu) have been confirmed at a farm in Salwick, which lies on the edge of Preston.
In response, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has said all birds on the infected farm will be culled, LancashireLive reports.As well as this, a temporary disease control zone will be implemented, covering massive parts of the Wyre, Fylde, Preston, and South Ribble areas.This came into force at 8.30pm last night (12 November) and stretches over 10km in every direction from the farm.The smaller 3km 'Zone A' is in place.
