Head makes 'difficult decision' to close secondary school amid Covid outbreak

A school has closed to all pupils amid a Covid outbreak. Families were yesterday told that students will be remote learning until at least December 2.

The head of the school, Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, in Darwen, Lancashire, described it as 'a difficult decision' but said it had been made in line with guidance from Public Health England, which was recently renamed the UK Health Security Agency.

All students at the setting, a specialist in digital media and care sector studies for ages 13 to 19, will now have online lessons.
