Beyonce and Jay-Z sued for ‘using Jamaican artist’s voice without crediting or paying her’

Beyonce and Jay-Z, claiming her voice was used on Black Effect without credit or payment. Dr L’Antoinette Stines claims the Carters sought her out in March 2018 to provide dancers for a video promoting their upcoming tour, according to TMZ.

In a lawsuit filed in federal court this week, L’Antoinette, who says she is renowned in Jamaica for her ‘artistry and wisdom’, claims Bey and Jay wanted to record her views on love.

L’Antoinette alleges that they told her the recording was for ‘promotional purposes’ only, but her voice ended up being featured heavily on their track Black Effect.

She claims in documents seen by TMZ that she felt ‘artistically raped’ after her voice was featured for the whole first minute of the track from the couple’s.
