The BBC has confirmed that a sketch about Black Lives Matter included in a festive episodesof The Vicar Of Dibley has sparked hundreds of complaints from TV fans.
Viewers were upset when Reverend Geraldine Granger – played by comedy icon Dawn French – took the knee and highlighted the fact that members of the black community are fighting for equality around the world.
The scene was met with applause by many, but some took issue with the comedy being “politicised” by including the very real world issue of racism.
