BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has missed presenting the show for a second day in a row after a painful leg operation.

Taking to social media on Sunday evening, the journalist revealed her recent absence is due to an injury that has left her resting up in a cast.

Unable to present her regular slot alongside Dan Walker, the 52-year-old explained on Twitter that she was taking a break as she was 'immobile'.

Fans were left gutted when they didn't see her on their screens yesterday for a bright and early 6am start - and it's looking like she'll need a bit more rest before she can return.
