BBC Breakfast host Jon Kay reckons BBC bosses would step in immediately if he grew out a bushy beard for broadcasts. The BBC presenter, 52, is known to rock a handsome beard for his Breakfast shows, but it seemed his co-star Sally Nugent was keen to take his hair grooming to the next level.Jon joined his co-host Sally on the famous red sofa as they brought the latest news to viewers across the country on Tuesday morning (July 26).Jon had admitted he was envious of long, bushy beards during a quirky nature segment about tree-huggers, where they treated viewers to several snaps showing nature buffs hugging trees. The pair couldn't help laughing at some of the more creative poses pulled off by the tree-lovers during a tree-hugging competition, where Alasdair Firth bagged the top prize. The hosts shared a snap of Alistair proudly clutching his tree-hugger prize, but it was his elaborate beard which stole the show for Jon.Jon said: "I've got a bit of beard envy, I have to say."Sally replied: "Have you?", before Jon went on: "Alasdair's looking fantastic there.

He's got a crown. He's got a bit of a tree..."Sally pondered what would happen to Jon if he grew out a similar beard to flaunt in front of the Breakfast cameras, and what their boss would say.She asked: "I wonder what the boss would say about that little beard."Jon was confident he wouldn't be able to get away with the magnificent beard and that he'd have to ditch it immediately. He replied: "If I went full beard?

I think that would come straight off. Well done Alistair"Jon was announced as a full-time BBC Breakfast host back in July, taking over from past presenter Dan Walker who left the programme for a job at Channel 5.READ NEXT:BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay swipes at Carol.
