EE BAFTAs viewers have called for Alison Hammond to host the Oscars after her huge success at Sunday night's ceremony. Bubbly TV presenter Alison, 48, hosted the new BAFTA Studio, chatting to stars including Austin Butler and Emma Thompson in between the on-stage presentations.
And viewers loved the This Morning star so much that they've called for her to host the biggest night in film when it takes place next month.
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on 12 March at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. One person tweeted: “Is it too late to get Alison Hammond to host the Oscars too or..." Another added: “30 seconds in and this is already evidence Alison Hamond should present every awards show.
Nay, every show.” A third wrote: “Alison Hammond is the perfect host for this, a national treasure." Last year, the Oscars were fronted by comedian Chris Rock, who was infamously slapped by Will Smith for making an inappropriate joke about his wife Jada’s alopecia.
