Atletico Madrid’s stance on Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has emerged as he is linked with an exit. The Gunners have had their eye on La Liga star Thomas Partey throughout the summer, with a £45m deal being negotiated.
Torreira has been touted as part of the deal for the Ghanaian international in a swap deal before the Spanish side snubbed it.
But El Chiringuito TV has reported that Atletico’s position on the Uruguayan has changed in the week, saying Arsenal’s No.11 is now the club’s “goal” for the rest of the transfer window.
Arsenal have already bolstered their squad with the arrivals of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and goalkeeper Alex Runarsson. But Mikel Arteta wants to add Partey, who has made nearly 200 appearances for Atletico.
