Thomas Partey has thanked the Atletico Madrid fans for 'accepting and believing in him' while he was a player at the club. The midfielder completed a £110million transfer to Arsenal on deadline day, after the Gunners triggered Partey's £52.5m release clause.

Arsenal also agreed to pay Partey £260,000-a-week for four years, and handed him a whopping £2.5m up front as a signing-on fee.

The Ghanaian's agent also received a commission of 10 per cent. On Tuesday, Partey wrote on Instagram to the Atletico supporters: "Dear Atletico fans, today I only have words of gratitude for you.
