Asda has issued an apology after a terminal cancer patient who was shielding due to coronavirus was asked to go to a store to pick up her online shopping order.
Ivy Smith, 61, who also has osteoporosis and celiac disease, had been guaranteed a delivery slot for her £89.58 online order.
But the patient - who already had a temperature, sore throat and bad chest and tested positive for coronavirus the following day - received a call asking her to go to the store instead.
Now Ms Smith, from Pitts Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, is boycotting the supermarket chain following the incident. She said: “The Government got me an online shopping slot because I’ve got terminal cancer and I was told not to worry about a delivery slot. "Then I got a phone call
