Arsenal executives have taken a huge pay cut - putting further pressure on the players to accept a reduction in wages. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is holding further talks with the first team squad via a video conference to discuss the issue after the players rejected proposals for a 12.5 per cent cut because of the coronavirus crisis.
The club put out a statement revealing all of the hierarchy - like managing director Vinai Venkatesham and head of football Raul Sanllehi - have accepted a drop in earnings of more than a third for the next year during “one of the most challenging periods” in Arsenal ’s 134 year history.
