Mikael Silvestre has become the latest former Manchester United player to hit out at Jamie Carragher over his opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Liverpool defender has felt the wrath of a few former United stars in recent weeks, with Roy Keane, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra all arguing with after he questioned Ronaldo’s position at Old Trafford.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 13 goals in 18 games across all competitions since returning to Old Trafford in the summer, although questions have been asked as to his work rate.
Some have suggested the 36-year-old won’t fit with new interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s high-pressing style, although the German praised Ronaldo for his off-the-ball work after his first game in charge.
