Animal Collective are known for doing a lot of things really well — from experimental freakouts to Billboard-charting "pop" — so it's perhaps not altogether surprising that their latest project is another left turn.
The group will be scoring Crestone, an upcoming documentary directed by Marnie Ellen Hertzler about a group of Soundcloud rappers.
It's available to stream on February 16, 2021. The film's synopsis is as follows, via a press release: "Crestone follows a group of SoundCloud rappers who live in solitude, growing weed and making music for the internet.
