Simon Cowell may have had a turbulent few years, but pal Amanda Holden thinks he's definitely toned it down after becoming engaged.

The Britian's Got Talent judge credits Simon's fiancée Lauren Silverman for forcing him to grow up after his famous bachelor days. However, Amanda, 51, also believes that Simon's son, Eric, 8, has played a huge part in his lifestyle overhaul following his biking accident in 2020.The Syco music boss suffered broken vertebrae in three places, missing his spinal cord by a centimetre after falling from his swanky electric bike onto the concrete outside his Malibu home in front of Eric and his step-son, Adam.

Speaking to The Sun, Amanda said: "He seems to have had a huge wake-up call, having an eight-year-old son, Eric, and falling off his bike, you question your mortality. "You never care about yourself, but the minute you have kids you want to live longer for them, you want to see them grow up and you want to see their kids too."The star went on to add: "And I think Simon feels the same way, I think he thought, 'Gosh, I've got this amazing new chance now and I've got this little boy to live for'."It's hysterical, he still has the odd fag and drinks his skinny beer.
