Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell has revealed he would be "petrified" if his son Eric were to perform on Britain's Got Talent, after the ITV show was halted due to a horror scooter crash.The inaugural episode of the new series saw four young boys aged between six and 10 take to the stage at the London Palladium to perform a series of scooter tricks involving towering ramps.Scooter Boys' routine, however, was drastically called to a halt after one member - Austin - fell from his scooter, forcing the intervention of medical staff.Thankfully, he was soon deemed to be okay to continue his routine and returned to the stage to rapturous applause.But that doesn't quell Simon's worries for his own son.Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Simon revealed: "I'm like, 'my god, what if that was Eric?'
