Halyna Hutchins’s family is suing Alec Baldwin for her death after the cinematographer was shot on the set of Rust last year.
Halyna, 42, was fatally shot in October 2021 after Alec let off a prop gun which he had been told was safe to use. The Ukrainian cinematographer is survived by her husband and their son.
Alec was devastated following the accidental shooting, and penned an emotional letter addressing the incident. Part of it read: “To Whom It May Concern, this letter is written on behalf of the cast and crew of the film production, Rust.
It has not been sanctioned or influenced in any way by the producers." Alec went on: "We, the undersigned, believe the public narrative surrounding our workplace tragedy to be inadequate and wish to express a more accurate account of our experience. "We are hurting from the loss of our friend and colleague, Halyna Hutchins.
