Aldi stores have been flooded with customers this morning with hundreds of panic buyers over coronavirus fears. Up at the crack of dawn, some shoppers were even snapped queuing outside Aldi before the doors opened to customers.
Other pictures show trolleys and baskets filled with non-perishable goods and lines to pay reaching the back of the shop. It comes as Aldi made the decision to implement ration-buying to curb any coronavirus panic buying.
The company has also enforced early closures, choosing to shut the doors at 7pm so workers can clean the store. Reports of this morning’s chaos surfaced on social media, with Aldi trending nationwide, and hundreds of Tweets piling in from shoppers.
