Ajax have been left embarrassed after accidentally leaving record signing Sebastien Haller out of their Europa League squad.
The 26-year-old Ivory Coast forward joined the Dutch titans from West Ham last month for a fee of €22.5 million (£20m). Haller has got off to a promising start with his new side, recording two goals and four assists in his six games so far in the Eredivisie.
But he will have no part to play in the remainder of their European campaign after the club sensationally somehow forgot to include him in their 25-man squad list for the knockout stages of the tournament.
After fans took to social media to express their confusion when the list was published, Ajax were forced to admit their error in a statement.
