Parks across Tameside could be closed if people do not 'act responsibly' and avoid gatherings during the coronavirus lockdown, town hall chiefs have warned.
Residents are being 'strongly urged' to observe the government's social distancing guidelines when visiting parks and open spaces in the borough.
Prime minister Boris Johnson announced last night that the nation would be going into lockdown for the next three weeks to try and ease pressure on the NHS and slow the spread of Covid-19.
People have been told they can only leave their homes once a day, and visit parks for exercise only with other members of their household.
