The youngster fell while visiting the Ceunant Mawr Waterfall in Llanberis on the edge of Snowdonia and was washed down into the pool below as bystanders desperately tried to help them. North Wales Live reports a member of the public jumped into the pool below the waterfall to drag them out before emergency services arrived.

Paramedics took the child to hospital in an ambulance. Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team told North Wales Live one of their team members was out near the waterfall when they heard 'a lot of shouting and commotion'.

A spokesman said: "They saw that a child had slipped and fallen into the pools above the main waterfall. "The team member immediately alerted the team (who were dealing with a separate incident on Snowdon).
