The introduction of Rangers and Celtic Colt teams in to the Lowland League was controversial to say the least. As it stands both will be in the division for one season only, and they are not eligible to be promoted.Rangers sit third in the division while their city rivals are six points behind in sixth but in many ways that's of secondary importance.
In theory at least the two B teams are in the league to better develop young players for the future, benefitting them and Scotland too.
