Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong completely overhauled his game after moving from Celtic — because he rarely had to defend in Scotland.
Frimpong, 20, left Parkhead in January and though he took a while to settle in he is now excelling with the Bundesliga side.
He came up against his old side home and away in the Europa League, with the Germans emerging victorious on both occasions. After being linked with Real Madrid and touted in his homeland of the Netherlands for a senior international call-up this week, Frimpong admits Scottish football left him ill-prepared.
