Twenty mile per hour zones are set to be implemented outside every primary school across Dumfries and Galloway within the next 12 months.And every major town in the region could also have the traffic calming measure put in place by August 2023.Council officers got into gear and pulled together a schedule of works after numerous frustrated calls from community councils and councillors for more 20mph zones.Temporary speed limits lasting 18 months will be introduced at each location so that the overall rollout can be completed quicker, while work is done in the background to make them permanent thereafter.The proposals are expected to be rubber-stamped by councillors at next Tuesday’s communities committee.A report produced for the committee
