READ MORE: Woman hits back at men who rejected her over 'big legs' with empowering bikini snaps The 22-year-old, from Gold Coast in Australia, started dropping dress sizes.And to ensure she didn't fall into a trap of disordered eating, she enlisted the help of the specialist to help her.Xanthia soon amassed a TikTok following by sharing her slimming tips – but some fans pointed out something they'd noticed about her body.The social media star told news.com.au: “It wasn’t until I was closer to my lowest weight that I realised my legs hadn’t changed, and it was frustrating.“It was so mentally challenging working out, eating well and doing everything you thought was ‘right’ just for no progress to be seen.”Fans warned Xanthia that she may have lipedema, which is a condition that causes an excess of fat in the lower part of the body.Xanthia recalled: “Lipedema has a certain look and you can tell when someone has it.”The influencer was diagnosed with the condition, which she will continue to battle for the rest of her life.

She decided to get surgery to remove the fat build-up, which cost around £17,000 and was painful to recover from initially.But the procedure, along with eating an anti-inflammatory diet and having massages to drain the fat, has already been beneficial.Xanthia said: "I can walk around a lot; my bruising has gone down and I am now entering my second phase of recovery right now which means things are going to become so much.
