A woman's body was discovered after rescuers were called to reports of a person on fire in a woodland in Manchester. Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 6pm today and officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) attended a short time later.
Greater Manchester Fire Service was called to initial reports of a person on fire. Two officers were seen holding up a white sheet within the wooded area.
Officials have not released any information about the woman, including her identity and age, or the circumstances of the fire, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The cause of the woman's death is under investigation. Officers set up a cordon around the scene. Fire investigators and officers from GMP were both in attendance on Saturday night.
