NHS bosses have introduced 'wobble rooms' at hospitals in Greater Manchester to support the mental wellbeing of staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
The special rooms are quiet, private spaces for medical staff to sit, chat and relax away from frontline pressure. The concept is being adopted and applauded nationally across the NHS.
The idea is to offer doctors, nurses and all medical staff a dedicated place to share worries, grab a cuppa, cry or shout. Called recovery rooms by the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA), they are now available for staff at Salford Royal Hospital, Fairfield General in Bury, the Royal Oldham Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary.
