A 27-year-old woman was rescued and cut from a car following a crash outside the Royal Oldham Hospital on Tuesday evening (January 9).

The family of a labourer who died following a tragic incident involving a lift at The Royal Oldham Hospital say they're desperate for 'vital answers' at an inquest due to begin next week. Dad-of-one Sandy Noble, from Scarborough, passed away after suffering serious injuries on February 22, 2021.

Dozens of coronavirus patients at the Royal Oldham Hospital are struggling to breathe without medical assistance as bosses reveal they are having to expand their intensive care capacity.Mike Barker, Oldham clinical commissioning group’s chief operating officer told a joint health and council meeting that they are planning on increasing the number of intensive care beds in ICU to cope with growing numbers of seriously ill Covid-19 patients.He said that as of November 10, there were 121 patients in the Oldham Royal Hospital who had tested positive for the virus.Of these, 19 were on mechanical ventilation, 52 were receiving oxygen and a further 16 were being treated with non-invasive Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) to help them

The NMC said that the incident took place at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs, North Manchester General Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, the Royal Oldham Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary.However, they did not specify the hospital where she was working at the time.The committee panel at the time said that "whilst there was no evidence of actual harm in this case, by not undertaking observations for patients but falsifying records to indicate that these had been done, Miss Worthington created a false picture of the physiological condition of these patients".Miss Worthington's suspension was initially overturned in June 2019.
