Witness appeal as pensioner left with serious head injury after being hit by bus

The 66-year-old was taken to hospital with a serious head injury following the crash on Cheetham Hill Road on Thursday afternoon.

He remains in a stable condition. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. A large number of police and emergency vehicles, including an air ambulance, and a rapid response vehicle, were sent to the scene.Woodland Street, Cheetham Hill Road, Heath Street and Greenhill Road were all closed following the incident.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, has information or dashcam footage to make contact. Con Marc Williams of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Our thoughts are with the man as he remains in hospital following this incident.
