Phillip Schofield’s iconic look began to form when he was a teenager. The silver-haired fox is an icon of British morning TV, with the star having hosted This Morning and Dancing on Ice with his best pal Holly Willoughby for as long as anyone can remember.ITV viewers adore the duo for their down-to-earth approach to everyday matters, as well as their honesty about their own lives.Over the years they have not only discussed issues that matter to normal people, but have proven themselves to be compassionate and understanding of the daily struggle. One great example of this is Phil’s journey to going grey.

His silver locks are iconic now, but he has been open on-air about how the process played out for him.In 2016 Phillip revealed how he got his iconic white locks during a segment on This Morning that discussed the art of going grey gracefully.Three viewers of the show had just had makeovers that had allowed them to express their inner silver fox, which Phil then followed up with a revelation of his own.Bravely telling the world about his own experiences Schofield admitted: "I started to go grey when I was 16."Holly, as shocked as viewers, said: "You were 16?

No!"But Phillip has regrets about how he handled the greying process as a younger man. He said he used to dye his locks in an effort to ward off the natural process. He said: "By 22, 23, there was quite a lot and I wish I hadn't coloured it then and I would have left it."It would have been quite cool at 16.

You never know. Don't fall into that trap. [Dyeing your hair] costs a fortune it takes ages and dyes your head, you just don't need to do it."The man from Oldham has been on our TVs since 1985 and for much of that he was colouring his hair to keep the grey at bay.Phil.
